While a walk in the mountains may be one of the best things in life, we’re afraid that unlike the old adage, it isn’t exactly free. At least, not a walk of the scope we’re talking about. Lengths of 2600km, heights of 2000m, all on a pack of 15 kilos or less (laptop included). It may sound inexpensive, but that pack needs to stay full or else at least one of us will starve.
The bottom line: we need money and we need equipment if we’re going to do this right.
On this site, we've tried to provide you with enough information about our upcoming adventure through New Zealand to inspire your interest. We hope you'll be able to help in some way.

We are currently looking to raise a total of $9,738 in funding to complete this expedition.
The funds will be used for transportation to and from New Zealand, accommodation, trail fees, equipment purchasing, food, and miscellaneous expenses, as laid out in our budget.
While we would love it if the cost of the trip were taken care of by a single corporation, foundation or person, we would definitely welcome the proposal of partial sponsorship, as in a Food Sponsor, or Communications Sponsor, who would cover the cost of that segment. Should we be fortunate enough to find an equipment sponsor, the total cost of the trip would be diminished by the cost of the provided equipment.

When you're alone, nothing becomes more important than ensuring that you've got the right equipment for the job (and an extra roll of duct tape, just in case you don’t).
On this expedition, we're looking for companies that produce top-quality hiking and camping gear to supply us with all the essentials for mountain trekking. Of particular importance is lightweight equipment; we'll be attempting to trek with less than 15 kilos (35 lbs) of weight.
Then there’s the laptop. Not necessarily an essential item to your average hiker, but when adventure is your job,
like ours, a light laptop and other light-yet-efficient technical gear would certainly put an extra spring in our step.
